Rangoli:
Rangoli is Art on floor. This art is most prevelant in West and South India
where women do this art on their floor everyday. I used to put Rangoli on floor
on all the festivals, especially "Diwali" or festival of lights. On this
festival, people visit each other and hence, everyone decorate their houses.
Paintings:
Paintings on canvas or paper is the best form of release for me.
I am not a great artist, but I find the process of putting pencil and brush
strokes very relaxing. I just wish I had more time to learn the various
kinds of painting. I really admire a few Indian techniques of paintings which
I will describe in this section.
Henna:
Henna is a traditional Indian Art on body.
Basically, dried henna leaves are crushed and a paste is made which is applied to hands,
feet, arms etc. in beautiful patterns. This is allowed to dry and is then washed off.
The paste leaves behind a beautiful dark red-brown color on your body.
